This EPIC poster was created by hand with 5 different carved linoleum blocks. This edition of 100 posters was ran through a 1960 Vandercook proof press by hand 5 times.

This poster was made to raise awareness about the unprovoked invasion of Russia on the sovereign nation of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Schools, churches, and hospitals have been leveled; cities have been reduced to rubble. To date, unprecedented since WWII, it is conservatively estimated 4 million refugees have fled Ukraine and more than 1000 civilians have died in just over one month.

Ukrainians who have never taken up arms are now taking to the streets to defend their homes. The text on this poster comes from the Ukrainian Anthem and the words are a battle cry. Anyone who stands for freedom and democracy can relate to the Ukrainian struggle. One easy to make weapon is the Molotov cocktail. The Molotov is also known as a petrol bomb, fire bomb, and bottle bomb, among other names.

The only thunder that can be heard louder than the cries of lost loved ones and destroyed homes is “Slava Ukraini!” - Glory to Ukraine! This is written out on the bottom of the poster in the native Cyrillic. This official salute of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is a symbol of Ukrainian sovereignty and resistance. It is often accompanied by the response "Glory to the heroes!”

Proceeds from the sales of this poster goes directly to Ukrainian American Coordination Council. Since the 1960’s the UACC have worked together with national and international partners developing sustainable and enduring Ukrainian communities. The UACC is a trusted source of fund appropriation for the current crisis in Ukraine.
