Hope for Myanmar
Hope for Myanmar
This 11X16” linoblock is so simple yet so stunning & powerful.
This poster was made to raise awareness about what is happening in Myanmar as part of the Raise Three Fingers global campaign fighting for democracy with art.
On February 1, 2021 the Myanmar Military staged a coup and arrested the country’s elected leaders. In the last six months, 1500+ civilians have been killed by their own military & 5,500+ young individuals remain detained for protesting.
Thousands of civilians continue to protest and demand a return to democratic rule raising three fingers in a salute originally adapted from the Hunger Game series, now a symbol of resistance & solidarity.
Hope looks like taking action & showing solidarity by continuing to talk about what is happening in Myanmar and supporting the cause. Raise three fingers and join the movement.
Proceeds from the sales of this poster goes directly to Mutual Aid Myanmar, a collection of activists, academics, and policy makers working to support the democracy movement in Myanmar by distributing funds efficiently to activists in Myanmar with the most need and greatest impact.
